About advisor.tv

We put the people building Jacksonville on the record.

advisor.tv is the media network for Jacksonville's growth economy. Shows. Lists. Awards. Events. Built on a decade of conversations from the Chicago era. Pre-launch for 2026.

The story

From Chicago in 2014 to Jacksonville in 2026.

2014

The beginning

MeetAdvisors launches in Chicago.

Adam Fridman starts a long form video series with Chicago founders. The format: one camera, one conversation, no script.

2017

Microsoft sponsors

The Microsoft Series.

Microsoft becomes a sponsor of the show, anchoring the credibility of the format and validating the model: editorial first, sponsors fund the work, never influence it.

2021

The pause

400 plus conversations recorded.

The archive crosses 400 episodes. Adam steps back from the brand to focus on Mabbly. The format has proved itself.

2026

Jacksonville

The second act.

advisor.tv relaunches as the media network for Jacksonville's growth economy. The Record is the publication of record. Same conviction. Deeper format. New city. New shows.

Same long form conversations with the people building real businesses. New city. Same conviction.

The founder

A decade of documenting the people who build real businesses.

Adam Fridman started advisor.tv in Chicago in 2014, originally under the name MeetAdvisors. The format was simple. Find the people quietly running Chicago business. Sit down across from them. Let them talk. Publish the conversation.

Over the next seven years, more than 400 conversations were recorded. Founders, CEOs, operators, investors, public sector leaders. Microsoft sponsored the show during its peak years. Guests included the founders of OpenTable, ShipBob, Keeper Security, Echo Global Logistics, and dozens of others who would go on to define their categories.

Alongside advisor.tv, Adam founded Mabbly, a Chicago digital marketing agency that has served growth businesses for over a decade. He has contributed to Inc.com on growth and storytelling, authored The Science of Story and Inspired Companies, and is currently writing his third book on go to market for professional services.

In 2026, Adam relaunched advisor.tv in Jacksonville. The reason is simple. The next decade of growth in the United States is being built in cities like Jacksonville. The same under documentation he saw in Chicago a decade ago is happening here, only faster. The opportunity is to build the media network for that growth before anyone else does.

Editorial standards

How The Record works.

Coverage is free.

We do not charge businesses to be featured. There is no path to coverage by payment. Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team, not the sales team, because we do not have a sales team for coverage.

Sponsors fund the work.

Sponsors and event tickets fund the production of advisor.tv. Microsoft sponsored the Chicago era for years and never crossed the line into editorial influence. That standard holds. Every sponsor on the network agrees to it before signing.

Curation is the standard.

We do not aim to feature every Jacksonville business. We aim to feature the ones building something that matters. Growth, story, and impact are the three filters. If a business does not pass all three, it does not appear on advisor.tv.

If you are building something that matters, you belong on the record. One test. One standard.

How we curate

Three filters. Every business. No exceptions.

Growth

Is the business growing in revenue, team, footprint, or impact? Coasting businesses, mature businesses, and lifestyle businesses are excluded. We cover companies that are still in motion.

Story

Is there something genuinely interesting in how this business is being built? Pivots, lessons, frameworks, decisions, conflicts. A story you would tell at dinner. If the business is just doing what businesses do, it does not pass this filter.

Impact

Does this business shape its industry, its city, its category, or its category's next decade? Impact does not mean size. A 12 person firm can have more impact on its niche than a 500 person firm with no thesis.

A business needs all three. We curate. We do not aggregate.

How we work

Five steps. Every business. Every format.

Step 01

Scout

We find Jacksonville's growth economy across 10 industries. Inbound nominations, outbound research, ecosystem scans. Every business considered gets a profile drafted on The Record.

You get

A profile on The Record

Step 02

Curate

We apply the three filters: growth, story, impact. Editorial team reviews every profile. Curation is the moat. Without it, advisor.tv would just be a directory.

You get

Editorial selection

Step 03

Record

We capture the story in the right format. A show appearance, a list inclusion, an annual award, an article feature, or a deep profile. Production by idea2result.

You get

A finished piece of content

Step 04

Publish

We distribute across our channels. Newsletter, social, SEO, the network, and your profile gets permanently tagged with every piece of coverage.

You get

Distribution across our channels

Step 05

Connect

We bring featured businesses into the same room at curated events. The gala, industry dinners, salons, founder breakfasts. The connect step is where relationships compound.

You get

A seat at the next dinner

The arc

A Jacksonville growth business could move from scouted to seated in the room with the right peers in 90 days. Five steps. That is what we are building.
