Editorial standards

How we host.

advisor.TV is a business publication. Sponsors fund it. Editorial runs it. Here is exactly how that wall works.

The guardrails

Four rules that keep the wall intact.

  • Editorial controls the lineup.

Hosts suggest guests. Editorial approves the lineup. No guest appears on a show because a sponsor, host, or guest paid or pressured for the slot.

  • Hosts host. Sponsors sponsor.

Hosts shape the conversation. Sponsors fund production. The two are completely separate roles. A host cannot be a paid promoter, and a sponsor cannot be a host or producer.

  • The conversation cannot be bought.

The platform can be sponsored. The conversation cannot be bought. A sponsor may appear on The Record, The List, or a show when the editorial team finds them relevant, and sponsorship never guarantees an appearance or shapes what is said.

  • Conflicts disclosed.

When a host has a commercial relationship with a guest or their firm, we disclose it on the show page and in the episode notes. Same standard if a guest is a sponsor's client.

The process

From idea to episode.

  1. 01

    Host pitches a theme.

A host suggests an episode topic and a shortlist of potential guests.

  2. 02

    Editorial vets the lineup.

The editorial team reviews the guests for fit, conflicts, and editorial standard. Editorial has final say.

  3. 03

    Guests are invited.

Outreach goes from the editorial team. The conversation is framed as editorial, not sponsored.

  4. 04

    Conversation happens.

The host runs the conversation. Production by idea2result handles the rest.

  5. 05

    Episode publishes with full disclosure.

Sponsors are credited. Conflicts are noted. Coverage stays free.

Founding sponsor

Mabbly funds the work. idea2result produces the work. Editorial stays independent.

Mabbly is a Chicago founded GTM consulting firm for professional services companies. Adam Fridman co founded it. It is the founding sponsor of advisor.TV. Mabbly funds the cost of the publication. idea2result handles production. Neither selects guests, approves content, edits copy, or shapes the lineup. Same standard that held during the Chicago era with Microsoft. Editorial integrity is what makes this publication worth funding. Lose it and the funding stops being valuable.

We are opening three sponsor tiers in 2026.

Show sponsor. Event sponsor. Founding partner. Every sponsor follows the same editorial wall.
