UpShot League is a four-team women's professional basketball league headquartered in Jacksonville and led by commissioner Donna Orender, the former WNBA president. The league's flagship team, the Jacksonville Waves, plays at VyStar Veterans Memorial Stadium.
In May 2026, the league announced $40 million in committed investment from 90 backers including Tamika Catchings, Cheryl Miller, and Ann Meyers Drysdale. The inaugural season tipped off on May 15, 2026. UpShot is positioned as a complementary league to the WNBA with a focus on developmental opportunities and year round professional play.
